History
Loading image...Trinity Baptist Church, chartered on August 7, 1994, held its first worship service on July 24, 1994. This church is the result of a vision God placed in the hearts of a group of people who were at the time members of First Baptist Church, Memphis.

The original group began meeting in the Cordova Community Center, formerly a Shelby County school building constructed about the time of World War I. The experience of meeting in the Community Center was challenging and exciting and the church rapidly grew. Plans were underway within months of the birth of the church to provide larger and permanent facilities on property the group owned just down the road at Sanga and Trinity roads.

A chapel, seating about 450, and with education rooms, was completed in November of 2000. Within the near future, the church plans to erect a sanctuary facing the intersection of Trinity and Forest Hill-Irene, an intersection still in the planning stage. That, however, seems in keeping with Trinity's seeing the invisible.

Trinity church has enjoyed a spirit of volunteerism which is enriching our fellowship. We believe there is a place for each member to use his or her spiritual gifts, ministering to and contributing to the entire body. We believe that every member has been brought to this church by the Lord in order that the vision He has given this church may be fulfilled through the use of all the gifts, spiritual and material, emotional and intellectual, that God has given our members.
